Vincent paints with a lot of texture. His style of painting is called Post Impresonist. That means he uses bright colors and distinctive brush strokes He painted a lot of self portraits.

Van Gogh is a very interesting painter! Seems like I remember reading that he spent all his money on tubes of paint. That's how his painting have so much texture. I'll bet they took a long time to dry completely, too. BTW: Great rendition of Starry Night!
